So since I'm excited about getting a new bike, I really wanted to get some more biking in now to help prepare myself for the new bike. Unfortunately I was rather busy trying to install debian on to laptops for people at work and didn't go home until pretty late.

So I found myself ready to go biking around 22:30 (10:30pm), and unfortunately sunset was around 20:00 (8:00pm). So I went, but some roads were kind of spooky. I think during daylight hours when biking one wants to stay off the major arterial thoroughfares. However late at night, it felt like having a few scattered cars around most of the time provided much more security than being alone on a poorly lit street.

Also at some point I want to download the data from my heart rate monitor so I can taunt myself with the data and try to encourage myself to improve my physical fitness. I was worried that I might have to write some software, but thanks to the Internet, someone else did it already.

The same guy even made progress at decoding the data format for the maps for the GPS I purchased.

Oh and the muuta subject line, the trip to Seattle we were allowed to open source some software I'd written. This sharing helped encourage some other developers to collaborate with us. These other developers were from Finland, and so while I was looking through their code I stumbled across "muuta" in one of the comments. Wondering what it meant I immediately turned to google, and after looking at a site that was both in Finnish and English, I infer that it means "miscellaneous".
