paralyzed with indecision

mood: uncertain

So saturday I went on an 25.6 km (16mi) bike ride. I think the whole trip took just under 2 and half hours which included wandering around a park and picking up groceries.

I've been thinking of buying a new bike, originally I was thinking of the brompton as I thought it'd be really useful to be able to easily switch between biking and taking mass transit.

However I didn't realize that it was so easy to cover distance on a bike. It almost seems that for it to count as exercise, I either need to be climbing up a bunch of hills or to be biking at least 10 miles. (I wonder if I should stop thinking of myself as a poor cyclist at this point?)

The most distant places I tend to have reason to go are about 30 miles away. I can almost imagine being able to ride that. Though it'd probably take some number of hours.

I'm getting closer to be able to reach most of the places I drive to on a bike instead. Which means that instead of needing a bike to fold easily so I can take mass transit, a bike with a better fit and better gearing so I can ride longer might be a better idea. Which implies one of the green gear bike friday's might be a better choice.

So many choices, so hard to make up my mind.
