Any suggestions?

I've noticed this pain in my hands. The parts of my skin that are in continual contact with either my keyboard or mouse feels irritated after a while.

It seems like smoother plastics are less likely to cause the irratation, the rougher, perhaps painted plastics are the worst.

But in my efforts to come up with an overkill solution, does anyone know where I could find a mouse made out of metal, wood, or a plastic containing no VOCs or POPs?

It sounds like a combination of a mild allergy with abrasion. Do you tend to drag your finger when pressing a key or a mouse button?

I'm suffering from a strained tendon (at least I hope it's just that) after instaling Mandrake 8.2 and keeping my hand on the mouse at a funny angle while selecting packages, then going to hapkido training and being thrown by said hand. One of these days we'll get a truly ergonomic computer. In the meantime a find those Chinese metal balls help.

It seems more like a reaction between my somewhat sweaty palms and the plastic. My theory is the sweat is sufficently corrosive to disolve some of the plastic, which then irritates my skin
