"Tomorrow" I need wake up at 4.15am so I can take my girlfriend to the hospital for an early morning out-patient surgery to fix her herniated disk.

I hope things go well as her constant back pain has been really draining for her.

OWW!! I strained a couple disks in the L4/L5 regions two years ago, I still have occasional problems as a result. Back pain is horrible.

I had a wonderful PT, though. He made me work really hard, but I think that was worth it. Much better than the previous PT who just sort of half-assed things with my knee 18 years ago. If she's looking for a recommendation, Edgar Hussein with Kerlan-Jobe PT on Lake Street. Tell him "Clobber Girl" (my skate name) sent you.

Either way, I hope she feels better soon, and I hope the surgery helps. Back pain is seriously unlivable.

Yeah she tried PT a little over a year ago, which didn't seem to help much. (Her limited response to PT then led to a MRI which pretty clearly showed a bit of her disk sticking into her spine.)

I was figuring you had tried PT already before going with surgery.

Ow, bit of disk sticking into spine, that's messed up.

Sending good vibes...
