Every time a feeling launches itself into my consciousness, I wrap it in words and bind it in language and throttle every last fragment of passion out of it until I'm left with only a vague echo. Then, invariably those echos coalesce and rise from the grave I had so desperately dug to extract their revenge for my foolishness.
