Random geek stuff

While I was talking to my girlfriend I ended uptrying to see if there was a way I could use a laptop under jewish shabbat rules. The rules say that you can't use electricity because someone has to work to produce it, so I asked what if one was using a solar powered laptop? She bet me that I wouldn't actually be able to produce a solar powered laptop.

I think I know how to do it, solar panels + voltage regulator + battery charger + batteries.

I ordered the high capacity and ultra bay battery for my laptop, I'm curious as to how long it'll last on one charge. I should either figure out how to mount the panels I have now, or possibly pick up some of flexible panels that I can more easily hang in my window.

Probably the biggest problem for me is trying to figure out where I can attach the panels.
