Weird idea

I was thinking about apple's ichat rendezvous protocol. I saw some code for an os x chat client, which led me to think something for gaim might be nice.

First off I'm not sure why hanging out in internet cafes and using a chat program to talk to people seems easier than just talking to them in person, but perhaps it is.

The other even more fun idea, is to use the rendezvous style chat protocol to have have a chat bot that is tied to a physical room (instead of the typical IRC room).

Maybe it could introduce people to each other or point them to a shared blog space or some other way for overly geeky people to meet each other.
