mood: insecure

I looked at the MIT web page and discovered the deadline to apply for grad school is Dec 15. But the EECS department doesn't care about the GRE. The only challenging thing is to come up with letters of recommendation.

I need to convince myself that having positive recommendation from a Caltech professor and having spent several years working in a lab doing work related to what I'm interested in, can help make up for my "low" GPA.

Not to mention I have a clear idea of what I want out of grad school. (Though the discussion of how technology can be used to enhance the cognitive abilities of humans sometimes worries my inner feminist–e.g. am I helping to construct another hierarchy of oppression based on technical skill, where the in group has a dramatic advantage over everyone left out on the outside.)

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can apply.
