productive but dull

I managed to hack up some scripts that make it easier to build the files to boot one of my systems via NFS. Unfortunately I don't have the NFS server secure and so I needed to secure my network.

I think unplugging the wireless access point will do for now. Later I'll either route the airport through a different network or switch to SFS

Installed many things, was shocked to find that not only did the sound blaster live S/PDIF output work right, it even supports volume control. (The other S/PDIF out device doesn't let xmms change the volume for some reason).

I was able to listen to the audio off of a dvd, but need to install some new video drivers before I can see the dvd.
