where to live

secretslip found an interesting room for rent in pasadena. The woman whose still living there considers herself poly and genderqueer, is an anarchist and seems pretty interesting. She also seems reasonably responsible.

It would be an interesting place to live for a year.

The downsides are the house is close enough to the freeway for me to hear the traffic noise. There is only one bathroom which is only accessible through two of the bedrooms, a situatio which I think sucks pretty badly.

There is however a tiny basement. If I wanted to go with this plan I could use the bedroom as a library/workspace and sleep in the basement, avoiding heat and noise. (It did smell a little funny, but I think a fan would take care of that.)

Best of all the rent would be about $400-$450 less than what I'm currently paying. (helping me to pay for a couple of expensive toys.)

Hmm... there's still a few condos listed in pasadena that I can afford. for example one for $130,000 with 300 sq feet (28 sq meters.)

Or I could let inertia win and do nothing.

Uh Maybe they are studios? Bachelor units? We have 2 bedrooms, 2 bath and it's 1350 sq ft. Our spare bedroom is about 150 sq ft.

Yeah, my current apartment is bigger than that. I think that condo may be smaller than some of the largest RVs.

The poly genderqueer house though is gigantic. I could loose multiple copies of my current apartment on the first floor.
