DC is wonderful! I can spend *days* at the Smithsonians. GMU is in Arlington I guess. Old town Alexandria is kind of fun. You can walk through artist workshops at the Torpedo Factory there. Lot's of good food. A decent subway system to take you around. Doesn't sound like you'll have much time though.

What will you be doing there? What exactly is your line of research?

Well the two days that we're actually going to be attending meetings for the GeneX project, we were warned there'd be no time left over for sight-seeing. Does the subway system leave DC and connect to neighboring regions?

I was hoping you'd say that... :)

I was strongly thinking of staying at least through the weekend which should provide more time to meet.
