So I went and aquired a new box for the new motherboard. Now that it feels that it is clothed as befits it's station, it's more cooperative and is actually booting consistantly.

Now comes the joy of trying to get an OS on the new hard disk. But finally I've made some actually progress on trying to get a machine that's capable of editing video working.

I do hope that the software portion of this project is easier. But hopefully I can reach the point of video capture, so I can unleash some nefarious plans of mine.

Windows? What's that?

My needs are kind of simple so command line tools like dvgrab and mjpegtools, are a good start. Also I was looking at kino recently and aparently there's this thing called blender.

But mostly I hadn't gotten all that far on the software side of things. The next phase of my project largely is to get all of the drivers to work correctly
