whee, a meeting

So here I am sitting in a meeting at work with 13 people and 8 laptops. Most of the people with laptops are staring intently at them, typing. I suspect they're doing actual work (or perhaps just flaking) instead of paying attention.

The down side is I don't think this will help streamline meetings and let us escape sooner.

I like that theory... I just wish the meetings weren't so long. Unfortunatly as we add new people our meetings become increasingly sluggish.

Also partially in support of your theory, I know someone whose technique to get out of pointless meetings is to try and derail it as far as possible. His theory being that doing such things will discourage people from inviting him back.
