House hunting

Back on the 12th I put in an offer on a condo, I was thinking of making them wait a bit so I could then haggle further, but after looking at the other options in the area, I realized that their counter was in actuality a fair price, and I further realized that the reason I was worried I couldn't afford it was because I was confusing interest rate and APR in my little excel sheet.

The end result is I signed their counter and emailed it back sunday night. But I haven't heard anything from the sellers. I did check with my agent and she'd received the signed offer and had forwarded it to the agent. (And called, and texted him)

But no response.

We wonder what's going on with them. *sigh*

Although house hunting does have the advantage of much more of it can be done via email than apartment hunting, there's a lot more opportunity for disappointment.

We spent 2-1/2 years looking at every dump for sale in Glendale. It was at a time when the bottom was busily falling out of the vastly overinflated housing market and there were only two places we looked at in all that time that weren't in foreclosure (our price range being what it was).

We put in several offers, but most people were hoping not to sell at fair market value because they owed so much more than that. So it went like this.

Here's an offer.
No.
OK, we'll keep looking.

Here's an offer.
Yes.
OK, we'll........WAIT a minute!

It's all a big tap dance, and no one side gets to lead all the time.

I wish you guys luck with finding the right place.

It will happen, eventually. We put in an offer on a place that never responded as well, and ended up with a place that is much better than the one we put an offer on.
