Shock!

There might be electric vehicles that are actually available in california.

I found this interesting link at the air resources board.

More importantly I actually saw an electric ford th!nk city with a california dealers name on the license plate frame charging at work.

That is really cool! Thanks for the link!

Mik rented a Honda Insight for our trip to Yosemite. It was really very efficient, and had decent space for camping gear once the back seat was down. But yes, the battery would start recharging when the car would idle, and you could watch it on the indicator while we sat in line waiting to pay for Yosemite entry. The engine starts really quietly, and emissions are quite low. I liked that car! About the only thing we didn't like was minor annoyance -- the handles to flip the seat back are on the inside of the seat near the handbrake...not the outside where you expect them. Weird.

D'oh. My bad. I thought it was a converted 4 seater, but I didn't muck with the hatchback and didn't know it was a 2 seater by default.

I'm still a bit curious as to what lifting the lid in the back did? Was there a small cubbie hole under it for storing stuff?

I saw 3-5 electric vechicles of the itty bitty bitty variety when I was in SF...

Yea! Electric cars are slowly getting to gain a foothold.
