Things to not like about Dallas

Admittedly I'm probably biased against texas, but I've found a couple of things not to like.

When I tried looking for food I tried looking at the TGI Friday and asked "do you have any vegetarian food" the answer was basically no.

So I went looking again, eventually I found a topz, which did have a veggie burger, and there's a quiznos, which should work.

The other much more real thing is even though this is a reasonably nice industrial/corporate area, the presence of sidewalk are rather sporadic.

I got this same reaction in Texas. When I said I didn't want any meat, the chef came out and asked why. Not wanting to get into it, I just said I didn't want any. He asked if I thought his meat was bad or something. I told him no, I just don't want any meat.

He then asked if I was allergic to meat.

I paused for a moment to reflect on the massive cultural difference, and just answered yes. Yes, I have a bad allergy to meat. Anything that had a heartbeat when it was alive makes me ill if I consume it.

That did it. He found lots of veggies for me, and just had a look of pity on his face the whole time.

In Texas you're supposed to drive your Cadillac with the longhorns on the front everywhere, so there's no need for sidewalks.

If you're a vegetarian, you park the longhorns in front of the steakhouse and take a taxi to the one vegetarian restaurant out in Arlington.

The suv's don't fit well on the sidewalks so they stopped supporting them.

TGIF is always a challenge. I usually manage to put something together out of sides... they have steamed veggies...
