WoW Bitterness

I'm so very frustrated, about a year ago my highest level world of warcraft character reached level 60 and theoretically could get an elite mount (which provides a 100% travel speed bonus). Perhaps about six months ago I finished all the quests needed to get the elite warlock mount, the final step of which requires a 5 person party.

At no point have I been able to get enough people to be willing to help me complete that. I've gotten a number of promises "Sure, we'll help you, just as soon as we finish this raid, or as soon as we can find another warlock to help us." Here it is months later, and still no elite horse. I know I'm not that good at asking for help, and I'm also not that good at building the types of friendships which one can make time claims on (especially in game). So I despaired of ever getting an elite horse.

A couple of days ago, though while questing in one zone I managed to make 100 gold and I thought, wait a second, the traditional way of getting an elite mount was through spending 800 gold. Sadly the second night in that zone only netted me about 45 gold, but it's still achievable, and best of all I don't have to depend on any one else.

I just have to put up with the part of me that's still attached to the real world taunting me that I should be farming for open source and python community rep.

Sorry Diane!

Transfer back to cenarius and I'll do it for you :D

I think I've done the mount quest 2 or 3 times for various people. Or if you have the fancy mats (i forget) I'll be your Lf1M DM healer.

I've got 500g, so I could quite easily pay for the 3 mystical items.

I expect I'll be logged in to WoW most of this weekend. My guesstimate is that I can make 10g/hr slaughtering twilight cultists. So I should be able to hit both honored with cenarian circle and have the 800g for a mount after about 30 hours of in-game time.

Since there's 52 hours from friday evening to midnight sunday, I should still be able to hit my target while still maintaining some luxuries like sleep.

We would TOTALLY help you! :D

Except our characters are Level #Sucky and since there's no sidekicking system in WoW I doubt we would be of any help. :/

That sounds dirty.

I'm guessing it's something like the sidekicking feature in CoH?

We're pretty nutty busy, but possibly next week sometime we might have a little time. Maybe. :/

Actually no, "twinking" is just using a higher level character to provide stuff for and to help make quests much easier for lower level characters so they can level faster.

I'm sorry we've been flakes about it. It's hard to schedule people for that kind of thing. If you want to set something, though, I'll be happy to come along.

After calming down a bit... I do want to make it clear that if it's possible to get through dire maul sometime this weekend, it'd certainly be far more fun that mindlessly farming for gold.

But I'm going to go mindlessly farm for gold until something comes together.

yeah, we can do that, not a problem. I'm not exactly sure what we need done, but with me and dave and you and blink, and someone else, I'm sure we can manage.

Just need to let us know so we can all work out a time--stupid life, always getting in the way!
