Cats

My girlfriends cat is dumb, and my cat is angry.

You see dragonblink's cat seems needy and desperately wants friends, so he'll periodically slowly ease up toward my cat. My cat, Iset, doesn't like this and will start growling. Yet, he seems to consider this a challenge and will continue slinking toward her. Tonight he tried sneaking toward her innermost sanctum and so she swiped at him.

What I want to know is why he keeps trying to do this? Most of the time when he got close she ran away, perhaps he thinks its a giant game.

But whatever, an anti-social cat and a super-social cat aren't the most compatible of kitties.

It's like this. Did you ever know a kid who was just a giant doofus, and every time he wanted to do something with you, you had an excuse, and you even told them straight out that you really didn't like hanging out with him or her?

And it never made a bit of difference, because the kid thought you were just the absolute coolest, and just being around you was good enough for them?

Yeah. It's like that.

That seems like a good explanation. Especially since once and a while I'll see them both sleeping on my bed without any major megadeath.

Cats are like that. We've had pairs of cats where one made it quite plain she didn't want anything to do with the other one, and it didn't make one bit of difference.

In fact, we had one pair where the friendly cat would wait till the grumpy cat was asleep and then slowly sneak up on her and bat her, just to provoke an explosion. It was pretty funny to watch.

I guess you guys will just have to get a third kitty for Lysander to play with!

I was checking out the robot at Discovery. That might make a good friend. LOL

So far the cats haven't been fond of the roomba, though perhaps a quieter robot wouldn't weird them out as much.

I don't think it wise to get a third cat in an apartment, perhaps if we had a house. So do you have a spare $100,000? It'd make a good down payment and make for a managable loan for some property along the gold line.

If I had a spare $100,000, do you think I'd be sitting here? I'd be cruising up the Nile!

Besides, if I'm gonna pay 100 grand for a kitty, that would be MY cat. :)

Yeah I suspect you can even buy a cloned kitty for that much cash.

Alas, the only lab creating cloned cats has closed down. I guess the market for $50K cats wasn't quite good enough.
