I've finally managed to get the patch from bug 66057, a linux/gnome specific retrieve system proxy settings patch, compiled into CVS head of the mozilla source tree. This included making an OS X "null" port of the patch, as I wanted to make sure I could get the code running before integrating the patch from bug 125995 to retrieve the OS X system proxy settings.

I hope they like this version of the patch, the other versions have been sitting around since april 2006 for 66057, and Nov 2005 for 125995

My goal is to one day understand everything you say in one post. This time I think I got about 20%! Go me! ;)

That's pretty good, especially considering I left some words out.

But for these programming posts, my target audience is other programmers. I've even wondered if I should maintain seperate blogs.

Ok, I'll try to remember to be a bit more inclusive in my concept of these programming posts audience, and not write everything exclusively in programmer jargon.

Probably not, but you could always set up some custom groups and filter which friends get to read what.

I write several wildly different types of posts. Its not that I don't want others to read them, its more that I don't want to annoy people who aren't the posts target audience.

Then cuts might be in order from time to time. That way, any people who aren't the target audience and wind up being annoyed will only have their own need to click on things to blame.
