Pesky XM dongle

Ha! Several days behind schedule I've finally managed to get sound out of the XM PCR widget again--but this time with something approximating my own code.

It took far longer than I expected to take the random C with classes code I found on the internet and to turn it into more modern C++ code with a python interface. Admittedly the code I have can really only reliably turn it on, off, mute, and change the channel. But that is enough to go work on some of the other parts of this XM project.

I need to either figure out how to stream using raop_play to the airport express, or figure out how to get darkice to stream the wave file. (As I don't have enough CPU cycles to actually compress the stream into the mp3 that its currently creating.)

Not to mention I also need to write some web interface to control the little widget.

You know, I bet if you modified the main deflector dish to emit a tachyon pulse beam, it would reverse the polarized harmonics of the conduit enough to solve all your problems.

Tachyons fix everything.

Just as long as you fix it so it won't pick up any channel other than 60s on 6. It's time my daughter learned what good music sounds like.

That would be more impressive if it were coming from someone who wasn't TONE DEAF.

... and if I had XM stuck on a Decades station I'd want it to be the 40s.

If I were tone deaf, K-rock would not cause me extreme pain.

Is the plan to come up with a workable way to liusten to XM radio from a computer without paying for the service?

We have the paid service -- rather, I do, through my dad who bought me the XM PCR unit as a birthday present several years ago.

No the plan is stream the paid for service to the various computers in the house to deal with the insufficient collection of audio inputs on the average sound card.

If you want free media music look at peercast or magnatune.
