Food related crazies

I have some strange problem where, when I haven't had enough of the "right" kind of food in a day, I can dramatically break. I can end up uncrontrollably crying, I feel weak, and I can't think (which is the annoying problem, because it really inhibits my ability to figure out what to go eat).

I had a mild episode of this sunday after gaming I'd had a fair amount of bread and grapes, after a breakfast of cereal, but no really substaintal meals that day.

When I got home I finished off some millet pilaf (mostly millet+zuccini) but that didn't help that much. What did help was downing a couple of blocks of smoked tofu.

Before going near-vegan, I'd found that cheese also worked to help me recover. It seems that some (possibly psychosomatic) leaves me needing some kind of salty/protein-rich food.

I have no idea what that could be. (Though I do think I should work on figuring out some portable vegan protein foods). these suggestions might be interesting.

(And I do have to admit I got sloppy enough about the vegan thing that I'm back to vegetarian, though I still try to be mostly vegan).

Most of the TastyBite stuff is pretty decent-tasting, although I generally add some cayenne pepper to it. It can be eaten cold as well as hot -- ie, you don't have to boil water to add to it or be near a microwave -- and is not bad cold, although better hot.

You should have said something. I was prepared to get food. I guess I was hoping we could have had dinner or something afterwoods. Now that I am aware of your affliction I will be more careful.

Mike has an affliction where he can't eat and do work within a certain period. He also says he can't eat when he first gets up or he will get sick. It is very strange. I mean I try not to eat and swim, but that was because of school.

I was fine when you left. I was waiting to see if anyone there figure out dinner or not, but they were all distractged by gaming, so too much time past. I only started having trouble around 8pm, and I started crashing around 9.

I can relate. For me it's rice. Though I eat rice at least every other day. If I'm down, eating more rice makes me feel better. Rice noodles do the trick too! Do you ever eat rice with soft tofu and a bit of soy sauce? All mish-mashed together. Oh so yummy!

Interesting... One day I crashed and ate some rice (possibly with beans) and soy sauce, and found myself in a much better mood. But things like bread don't seem to be as helpful.

I wonder what nutrients rice has when compared to bread.
