"See me"

Yesterday I got a message "please see me at your convenience" from the department administrator. Being something of a paranoid type, my first thoughts were "what's wrong", but I practiced some cognative therapy and was moderatly successful at convincing myself that bad things don't come worded that way.

Turns out I've been working at caltech for 5 years and got my "thank you watch".

Were you working there for 5 years, or did you leave just weeks before you hit 5 years?

well lilach worked in the library part time for awhile (2 years?), then didn't work there at all then worked part time 20 hours a week or something for a few months. She got a watch.

I worked in the library longer, plus strauss lab plus for jlr.

Nothing.

I have been with my company MWH for 5 years also. We get a Pin and an Extra week of vacation.

(technically I started working 8 months earlier but it was on contract along with several other people) So even though I have worked here longer others were hired on directly and gianed thier benefits sooner.

:(

I'm now at 4 weeks PTO, and have 2 pins. (lapel pins) One for 3 years and One for 5 years. (actually I guess I haven't recieved the 5 year pin yet)

I get 7 holidays off a year. It doesn't feel like enough. I could use 2 months off. I need to look into becomming a teacher.
