2 Scary things in one day

I did two scary things yesterday.

One, after driving to several toyota dealerships yesterday, and either being told there's a two month wait, or having someone try to sell me a used prius for more than the MSRP of a new one, I went back to the first dealership and signed a contract. Unfortunately the car was supposed to have arrived in the US that day and hadn't had time to make it from the port to the dealership.

Oh yeah, I think that I got really good financing terms, probably because i put 70% down. I wonder if my credit union will be willing to match or beat the dealers loan.

(And yes, even though I bought a new car, I do recognize that land is destroyed by roads and peacefulness by the noise pollution are caused by any car, but then it's hard to live too far outside of ones society.)

The second scary thing was setting up a dinner with a women I'd met through OK cupid this upcoming friday. We met once before, and have been periodically playing world of warcraft together.

Is their a connection? Did getting a prius help me pick up a chick?

Who knows, but It'll certainly make picking her up from her home easier.

You put 70% down? Wow. That's impressive.

Which dealerships did you go to? When I moved out here (as in, the day after I arrived), I went to 3 different Toyota dealerships in search of a new car.

I wanted to do 100% down, but alas the prius is too expensive of a car, and there is that whole insurance thing....

I ended up at symes toyota in pasadena, I don't know if I'd recommend them, but the were at least less bad than carson toyota, and would actually sell me a car in the near future, though with things that I didn't necessarily want...

Like they continued to assert that the car just came with the preferred option pack (floor mats) from the factory, which I'm not sure I believe.

Thanks. I hope it goes well too.

But first I'm going to focus on simpler things like getting the new car.

I bought my vehical at Claremont Toyota. I like them. Better then the Glendora Toyota, who I believe are a bunch of crooks. They tried to put a bunch of numbers in front of me and tell me what a deal I was getting on something they had in stock. (crack heads) I was tempted to report them to the bbb but i'm too lazy I suppose. Anywho I'm very happy with my matrix. I don't think it is as clean as your prius will be, but it has the cargo space I needed, and the features I wanted.

Yes you do count as an old friend.

I'm supposed to get it wednesday night or thursday morning.

Yeah I'm not sure if I'd recommend this toyota dealership. They are less evil than the carson toyota, when they overcharged me for something, at least I actually got something for it.

Like i'm not sure that I actually wanted a lojack but they refused to sell it without it, and I can sort of justify having it. But still it upped the price more than I wanted to spend.

I suspect that they are not good, however at first pass they're no where near as evil than some of the other places I visited.

I have lojack on mine, and it does decrease my insurance. Over the life of the loan it gets paid for. I think I paid like 800 bucks for it and I save like 100 bucks a year in insurance. (could be more) So maybe a little bit more then the life of the loan (8 years vs 5 years)

I have the early warning system which if my car is moved it calls up to 5 phone numbers. Cell phone, home phone, parents house, wifes work, My work
There was an issue with it becasue the batteries only seem to last about 10 months. (which means I 'm likely due for another battery change) When the battiers died on the magic key, the system called me everytime I moved my car. Incluing my family. CR 2032. I should go pick some up.

Take it easy!Slow Ride!
