Vacation

I'm about to go on a vacation and I think this may be the first time in my life where there are no external forces choosing my destination. When I was a kid my parents of course chose the ever popular vacation commanded by their church, as an adult most of the vacations were spent visiting several medical clinics for some elective work (though I occasionally took longer to enjoy the location). Once someone invited me to come along with them to London which was an actual vacation, though she suggested the destination. But finally I've actually made a decision, albeit one forced because I'd nearly accrued my maximum amount of vacation time.

I'm going to SF from monday through saturday, and for fun I decided to take the train up, even though it's one of the slowest ways of getting to SF from LA. (But hey, I was just planning on reading and programming anyway.)

I do hope Amtrak has some power outlets.

I also think it is a sign of my net addiction that I'd made sure I could go on-line before I'd picked a place to stay.

At least on the East Coast, Amtrak is really really great about the power outlets. I know quite a few people who prefer it to planes for that very reason.

:( there was only one in coach, and I only found it because some other geek was sucked up to it.

Oh my. The West Coast trains sound really different. There are tons of plugs out here. Sorry.

I think they're targeting sight seers as opposed to commuters. There was a nice lounge car which could be used to watch the california coast line go by. I brought along enough back up books to keep me entertained, and part of the point was the adventure of trying the train.

(Though I do think I'll want to try the east coast one at some point.)

Oooh, did you see anything new that you really liked? I'm planning on stopping by as well.

I wonder why she remembers me by name?

I also wonder if I should buy another corset.

there was one waist cincher that was just gorgeous. it was black and blue with a blue inset front panel that had ribbons across it that were gathered at the center to look like bows, and there was no busk.

she said she had a good memory, but i still think that was pretty cool.

hehe. current ones getting that much use, huh? i don't blame you one bit. :D

Mmmm corsets, I like corsets.

ooh, you're getting one to? That will be a most pleasant sight to see.

They told me that I should wait until I finish closing it before taking it in to shrink it.. it, I'm only close. But they did give some suggestions on how to tighten it by myself.
