off of del.icio.us I saw a link to map of the subways of major cities to the same scale. world subways. Though one of the most sparse, LA has one of the longest subways.

Did the author give up on maintaining it? The LA leg seems relatively recent as it includes one of the lines that only opened 6 months ago.

I remeber seeing that on a vegan site and they pointed out the energy ineffiecency of that--it'd be far better to just directly convert plants into fuel. Though it does seem like a better way of disposing a biohazard than most choices.

Though I have heard that some prions can be heated to hundreds of degrees without being destroyed. I wonder if they'd be destroyed if they were in something being burnt.

Yeah, the only thing the LA metro is good for is commuting to downtown LA. To me the map just crys out for a circle line that connects some outer fragment of the metro system.
