Java

I've been stuck on a project and forced to use Java instead of languages I like better like C++ or python. So instead of making progress on my project I've been trying to drag some of the conveniences I'm used from IPython (an enhanced python interpreter.)

I've found beanshell and have been thinking of how to extend that interpreter to be a bit more pleasant.

Then I found Java Synatx Extender and have been wondering how I could misuse that to add lambda functions and the python map function to java. I suppose I should just play with anonymous classes first.

If gcj supported more of java, perhaps I could even be happy as I'd be able to run from scripting to compiled code in the same language.
