I sent money to my friends via western union, it was too expensive, but did have the advantage of maximizing the chances that they'll have it for their trip.

Note to self, in the future more advance warning can dramatically drop the costs of shifting money around.

It sounded like donation let an extra protester go.

Here's to keeping corporations subject to the democratic laws of a country.

BTW, does anyone know where I can get vegan fair-trade chocolate in southern california?

I think she does. She complained about not being able to eat chocolate because of slavery and animal cruelty. Suggesting to me that she would like to eat chocolate... though I don't know what particular type she might prefer.

Hmm... couldn't find any at TJs, I'll try again later.

Also do you know if they managed to pick up the money I wired?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe they did. I know they got to her parent's house around 9 pm last night and last I heard they were going to get it this morning. I would assume they are on the road, and I haven't heard anything indicating they had troubles, so I think it's all good at this point. You can always call her cell if you want to be sure. I wouldn't blame you for wanting to make sure.
