Something I ate yesterday didn't agree with me, and as a result was violently ill.

Not to surprisingly today I weight 1 kg less than yesterday.

I think I like the slow and painless path to weight loss better.

You could always consume one of the worms that eats away at your insides and causes you to lose weight, painfully with the possibility of death, or eat some rather noxious seafood and contract food poisoning.

I'm currently thinking that choice two was what happend. I was talked into tasting the broth of some meat eaters dish, because the meat was "contained" in dumplings.

Teach me to listen to those sneaky meat eaters.

If you haven't eaten meat in a while, it could have merely been the consumption of meat that made you sick and not the fact that it was bad meat. Bad, bad vegetarian! That's what you get..lol... :)

It seemed plausable that the meat hadn't contaminated the rest of the food. I was so wrong. I learned my lesson and will be more careful about avoiding meat.

I have this problem with pork: I don't eat a lot and tend to have ::ahem:: problems with it if I eat too much.

Also tho, it could have been just one of those things. Something pisses off your system. I've had that too. You get a passing virus ::SHRUG::

I grew up in a church that followed something similar to kosher, so I have little tolerance for things like pork and shrimp. The few times I tried (before I became vegetarian) I tended to get sick.

I think pork might take an extra set of bacteria to digest it that you don't develop if you don't eat it regularly. (Which perhaps explains the hebrew prohibition against pork.)

Growing up I did eat pork somewhat regularly. This is just something that has developed in recent history. So maybe you're having a similar thing with beef. Or it could be unrelated.

What were the symptoms you had? Though it felt more like a bad reaction to food.
