I clarified a reason why I tend to be uninterested in guys. There's a severe imbalance in the ratio between geek men and women. As It's easier for geeks to understand each other than non geeks, they tend circulate in the same male dominated social circles.

As a result I tend to feel that if a geek guy is interested in me, it has little to do with me, and far more to do with the unbalanced ratio. One example is one guy in one of my role playing groups had crushes on all the other single women before getting around to me.

I feel inadequate and want a relationship where I feel important and special to counteract

I feel also like there's more to write on this subject though I can't currently do it.

So what you're saying is that you're hanging around the wrong sort of *guys*. There ARE guys who will be interested in YOU for YOU. Just cause the geeks you know aren't that way, doesn't mean you can paint ALL guys that way. I do know geek guys who like people for people. In full, not just for their geekines....

well, I should also admit that it's I know that it's not necessarily true, but it is rather easy for me to use this argument internally to discount the occasional interest I receive. Though it's just me looking for justifications to believe that no one could actually be interested in me.

Remember, Dearie, that *I* fell in love with you almost IMMEDIATELY after meeting you and getting to know you. You're so cute, and witty, and lovely!

*kisses and hugs*
