sobbing while one has a runny nose is quite uncomfortable. Having to fight through the flem in addition to the tight throat is quite painful.

The other question I have is why does crying make your nose run.

The sinuses are opened up when you are crying more. The tear ducts flow, obviously with tears, but also you have a lot more fluid in your nasal areas that you wouldn't ordinarily have. Hence you're going to have more nasal dripping than normal...

*hug* for ya if you want it!

and I can tell that I'm not a severely depressed person any more because I get better after a day or two.

If you want to cry, tt's your right. Also, contrary to popular belief, I certainly do not cry that much. I too get better after a day or so. :)
