The Derby

I was thinking about going to see a concert at The Derby tonight at 10:30. The things against it, I'm really tired, I haven't bought a metro pass yet, and I'm not yet familiar enough with the area to feel comfortable walking 1.2 miles through random parts of Los Angeles. Also by the time I decided to go I wouldn't have been able to get there until after it started. (Yes a car would be faster, but you can't read while driving.)

Why is walking so scary in LA? I casually did stuff like that while in washington DC.

I need to buy a metro pass and see where I can get myself on the trains.

Also I thought of an advantage to owning a wearable computer, I can still be reading text while holding my bike. Holding a book while holding the bike would be a bit awkward.

I used to go to the Derby quite often for swing dancing and there is a bus that goes from Lake and Colorado to very close to the Derby. I don't remember the number of the bus, though.

Ummm...I don't quite remember..half hour, 45 minutes? It's on Los Feliz, right? It's not all that far away. Oh and the bus goes on the freeway, which I had never seen a bus do in my life before I as on that one. I totally thought it was going the wrong way.
