Loans

Countrywide called back and offered me my choice of two 80/20 30 year loans, one 30 year fixed with 5.875% interest and 1 3/8 points (and random other fees) totaling closing costs of $4,900. The other loan is fixed for 10 years and after that can vary each year. That loan is for 5.5% fewer points (I didn't find out exactly how many) with closing costs of $3,700.

In both cases the second covering the remaing 20% of the property is for 6.5% (and given the payments they quoted, is probably also for 30 years).

I know that I should shop around more, but dealing with this is kind of hard.

I'm leaning toward the 10 year loan as I doubt I'll still be living there in 10 years. (The longest I've ever lived in one place is 8 years).

Also it's looking like its time to start the horror of packing (and since I'm aiming to move toward the end of august I still probably have time to go through and purge the contents of boxes that I haven't unpacked in the past 4 years.)

I hope the new place doesn't have ants. I'm getting sick and tired of picking them off of me. Not to mention being mildly worried that one will crawl inside one of my computers and short something out.

:/ There are ants in the sink at work, ants on our sink at home, ants on our balcony, ants all over. It's the hot weather.

I wonder how hot it has to get before ants stop crawling around? I know they hide in the winter.
