So as I was reading smart mobs I learned about upoc.com a group chat service for mobile phones. Though I like locust worlds support for multiple-access method better.

That then led to the idea of extended jabber servers that perform the function of the above commercial chat servers, with multiple means of access. The servers perhaps could then use something like the gnutella protocol to aggregate into a larger community. (Perhaps something like that could give decentralized blogs some of the aggregation features of LJ).

As I finished that thought I realized just how much of my life has been wasted in self-loathing. It's really quite staggering, and there's so many other things I could be doing.

I want to say bad things about this following observation as it shows how geeky I am, but in a burst of self-kindness, I'll refrain.

It seems much of my aesthetic sensibility seems to be inspired by elves. What could be better than wandering around in flowing gowns while living balanced between ones high technology and other species.

I should stop worrying if I'll look like a dork, we live in world where people consider themselves to be furries or vampires, spend most of their free time being anachronisms or are engaged in a wide variety of body modifications.

If I want to wear a skirt while writing code to control an automated drip watering system for house-plants I should just act instead of worrying.

(Though ready-to-wear clothing does suck, I hope mass customization continues to spread.

I wonder how long I can continue to consider how good looking I am an unanswerable question (or at least a waste of time.)

Perhaps not quite as good as a resolving my irrationality about my appearance, but it should certainly let me be more fun at parties.

What do you mean ready-to-wear clothing sucks? You mean anything you buy in a store sucks because it's intended to fit the average person?

As far as I can tell for womens clothes its not even the average person, it's whatever they chose as their model.

And more specificly ready-to-wear is annoying for me, since it's not likely that I'm close to any ones model.
