So the subject pretty much sums up what I did this weekend. I spent way too much money on some new computer hardware and audio equiment, purchasing this equipment required driving.

So the subject pretty much sums up what I did this weekend. I spent way too much money on some new computer hardware and audio equiment, purchasing this equipment required driving.

<a href="http://www.mini-itx.com/store/default.asp?c=2#p145>silent motherboards</a>.

I think it's getting time to sell off some more of my cast off hardware so I can free up space.

Anyone need an athlon 600 with 128 MB ram or an athlon 1800 with 512 MB ram, all-in-wonder radeon in a coolermaster case? Or would anyone like a 486 with 36 mb ram (for free, I think the athlons still have some marketable value).

Saturday I also bought <a href="http://www6.tomshardware.com/video/20030108/speaker-10.html">Logitech Z-680 speakers</a>, I should've listend to the review on tom's hardware. They sounded nice but with no input there was a noticible hiss.

So today I returned it, and went to circuit city and wasted way too much money for some nice home audio equipment. Receiver, <a href="http://www.harmankardon.com/product_detail.asp?cat=REC&prod=DPR%201001&stype=S">Harman Kardon DPR 1001</a> and speakers<a href="http://bose.com/home_audio/ht_speakers/am10/">Bose AM 10</a>. I bought the slightly lesser speakers even though I was testing the more expensive ones (AM15s). I hope the only difference is the size of the subwoofer.

Now I just need to clean my apartment up from the installation mess.

Mmm... beautiful audio... (Actually the equipment seems good enough that I can tell the difference between audio coming out of my iPod in analog or digitally off of a dvd player). (I'm also happy that the new stereo equipment is using only 20-30 watts more than my previous equipment, I was afraid the power consumption would be rated in hundreds of watts).

Also I think I need to make sure I stop going out to eat for a few weeks.
