Therapy!

My therapist is back from her two week vacation!

So I was able to share how I haven't really resolved feeling insecure about being trans which I suspect is helping to fuel my insecurity about my body.

I still have to deal with that whole body thing since mind uploading probably wont be available soon. (Then, then I can not have to deal with all of my angst about having a body).

If you were as dualist as I am, you wouldn't care about your body. Well, you'd care some things about it, but other things you wouldn't. How's your proprioception?

I'm glad I looked that word up...

I suspect that my proprioception is quite good. I can easily do things like spinning on one foot by shifting my by balance, I can easily contort my body to slither through narrow car door openings, I can feel all the repulsive layers of fat.

I used to be more disassociated from my body, but transistion helped me be a bit more comfortable. When I was a teenager I used to feel ill after seeing myself in the mirror.

It is more of a sense of where your body is in space. For example, with your eyes closed, do you know how much you knee is bent. At least that is how I was using it. K

This is the definition I was using...

From WordNet (r) 1.7.1 (July 2002) [wn]:

proprioception
n : the ability to sense the position and location and
orientation and movement of the body and its parts
