"You're cool"

*Sigh*

So I had lunch with secretslip, and she mentioned she thought I was cool. (Or some alternate phrase indicating general approval).

As the afternoon progressed part of me wanted to try and reinterpret that as something other than she thinks I'm an interesting and decent person.

Hmm... maybe I should go visit santa cruz, I hear they have queer women up there.

I assume that you knew I would read this, Diane, so I must comment. What I meant by that was that I don't feel so uncomfortable about you anymore. I have never had any gay friends before that I knew about and I wasn't sure how to deal with you. Now, I realize that you're just a regular person. Something like that.

As for Santa Cruz, it's a veritable Clam Bake up there. I *never* realized it growing up there, but seeing it through adult eyes, the town is quite populated with lesbians. Seriously, them's rich picking grounds.

Yes I knew you'd read it... I was a bit worried that basically saying that, at least for a little while, I occasionally have the wistful thought would strain things, but decided I wanted to still express what was going on inside my head.

I hope that doesn't weird you out too much...

(This is where LJ starts getting weird, I have the habit of jotting down things I'm thinking about, yet now at least in this case the person I'm talking about can read it. I could hide what I was saying from you, but I know that you like to know what others are saying about you... so should I hide it or let you find it? I'm not really sure.)

It wouldn't be gaydemographics.org would it? Their shockwave front page is unintelligible from opensource browsers. (I had to break out OS X to view it.

We're geeking a little here, but I was able to see their SWF front page with Mozilla for Linux plus the Shockwave plug-in. I guess the plug-in isn't open source, but at least the browser is. But there probably isn't a plug-ing for other PPC-based OSes. :^p

Exactly, pretty much if it's not open source no one bothers to do a build for PPC linux. There is an open source shockwave viewer which was able to start to display the page before dying. (Though it is my issue for wanting to run linux on mac hardward...)
