I pulled together my courage and managed to get my bike valet parked.

Unfortunatly when leaving it started raining rather heavily, so I ended up biking home in a heavy downpour. Though really not too bad since it was only for a few minutes and I was going directly home. (Where I could change into warmer clothes).

Though it did occure to me that people bike in england, and it rains there more frequently than here in LA. So there might be bike shops with proper rain gear.

"There is no bad weather, only bad clothing", a quote I heard from the swedish postdoc in my lab.

Fantastic!

So true. Now you know why I list 'technical clothing' among my interests.

I have a bright yellow jacket, and some (black) gore-tex pants, both of which are waterproof, and make biking in the rain almost fun. :^) Got 'em both at REI, which has a pretty good selection of such things. (The pants are general hiking rainwear, not cycling-specific.)

Woooo-hooooo!

Growing up in an L.A 'burb, I had several occasions to bike in the rain (not on purpose). I rode my bike to school. Mind you, I was in grammar/jr. high school and wore a uniform skirt. Biking in the rain wasn't so bad, however a couple of times it started HAILING. If that didn't hurt! It's bad enough being out in hail, but being on a bike (how fast do they go?) and having it hail on my bare legs. OUCH.

Also I've been on motorcycles and it's started to rain. That's *cold*.
